Homework in Year 3 consists of:

• Weekly spellings
• Times Tables Rockstars
• Reading

Weekly Spellings

Spellings will be given out in Mondays. The children will be given these on a spelling sheet. They are to practice these daily by writing them - in their neatest handwriting- and to have one practice test at home before the spelling test on Friday. The children are also expected to write on sentence for each word in the spelling list. 

Times tables Rockstars

The children are expected to complete 10 minutes a night on times tables rockstars. Their login and password will be stuck in the front of their homework books. It is really important that the children complete this homework to practice their multiplication an division facts to support them in their learning in Maths and to prepare them for the times tables test in Year 4. 

Reading

The children will be expected to read regularly at home each week. They will bring home a reading book for them to read and also a more challenging book that they have chosen to read for pleasure with an adult at home. They will be given an allocated day on which to bring their books in to school and they will be changed regularly as and when required. It is essential that they are reading regularly.
