Admissions

Reception Class Admissions

Children are admitted in the reception class during September immediately after their fourth birthday.  School follows the LA’s admissions policy. The criteria from Lancashire's policy when a school is over subscribed is shown below:

 

When a school is oversubscribed on parental preferences, then the following priorities apply in order:

1. A) Looked after children and those who have been previously looked after, then

    B) Looked after children and those who have been previously looked after - those legally adopted

         from overseas, then

2. Children for whom the Local Authority accepts that there are exceptional medical social or welfare reasons which are directly relevant to the school concerned, then

3. Children with older brothers and sisters attending the school when the younger child will start, then

4. Remaining places are allocated according to where a child lives. Those living nearest to the preferred school by a straight line (radial) measure will have priority.

Nursery Admissions

There is a maximum of 30 places in the nursery.   Priority is always given to 4 years olds.   If there are places left then 3 years olds will be admitted the term after their 3rd birthday.  If more places are required than available places will be allocated by age (oldest first) provided their child was registered the previous term except if parents/carers are new to the area. If you are interested in a place in our fantastic nursery class please fill in the form below or if you require a paper copy collect one from school Visits are highly recommended and you are more than welcome to visit us anytime.

The Nook (2-year old nursery)

We provide nursery childcare and education for 2 year olds in 'The Nook'.

You may also be eligible for 15 hours free childcare and education for your 2 year old. Use the link below to check your eligibility.

 

In Year Admissions

If you are requiring a place for your child during the academic year, or for a year group other than Reception or Nursery, you must apply through LCC.
