Safeguarding and Child Protection

At Brookfield Park we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils as set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education(DfE September 2024) Mrs Sarah-Jane Whiteside is Designated Safeguarding Leader for Child Protection and her training is up to date. (advanced DSL training October 2021/ latest annual DSL refresher September 2024).

Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leader for Child Protection are:

  • Mrs Steph Johanson (October 2020/ latest annual DSL refresher September 2024)
  • Mrs Laura Collinson (October 2020/ latest annual DSL refresher September 2024)
  • Mrs Angela Latham (October 2023/latest annual DSL refresher September 2024) 

The Child Protection Governor is Mrs Cath Helm

  • All staff, governors, parent helpers, volunteers, supply staff are DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service previously known as CRB) cleared.
  • All contractors or services regularly used are DBS cleared
  • All staff have received annual safeguarding and child protection training, (September 2024) 
  • Shelley Allard is the lead prevent teacher and all staff have carried out recent prevent training 
  • Safer recruitment is in place Sarah-Jane Whiteside (December 2022) David Brown (April 2021)
  • All Governors received Safeguarding and Child Protection Training  (2022-2023) All have accessed recent updates from September 24 KSCIE and further governor based safeguard training is to be delivered Autumn term 24
