Welcome to our EYFS Foundation Stage Unit (Nursery and Reception)
Over the last three weeks we have been settling the new Reception class and new Nursery pupils into class.
The pupils have been learning all about each other and making new friends. We have enjoyed playing and working in all areas of continuous provision such as the role-play home corner, the space themed reading area and our fantastic outdoor area.
They have also got to know many adults in our class. Mrs Collinson, Mrs Welsh and Mrs Bingham are the key people in our EYFS Unit. Mrs Shuttleworth teaches Reception on Monday and Thursday afternoons when Mrs Collinson has her Leadership and PPA time.
The children will have circle time every Wednesday with Mrs Latham. They take part in Jigsaw activities (PSED) with our Jigsaw piece Jenie.
Mrs Bingham leads our Nursery activities and also supports Reception reading.
This term we are working on making our own pieces of artwork using a range of tools. We will be exploring junk modelling using our own ideas. We will also learn about Autumn time and explore our outdoor environment.
Letters and sounds (phase 2) work is a key focus in Reception and also mathematical work including saying numbers in order, counting objects and recognising numerals.
Please look at our photo gallery, latest newsletter and links to useful activities and websites.
Please find below letters and sounds videos, powerpoints and links including links to Phonics Play, Espresso for many activities and Scrap (phase 2) and Polly Phonics (phase 3), twinkl and other websites such as Top Marks.
