Las Fallas is a UNESCO recognised cultural celebration of humanity from Valencia. This celebrates Saint Joseph. Communities around Valencia spend all year creating magnificent ninots which represent different points of view on a wide variety of topical events. Around the city the creations are "planted - Las Plantas" and they are then voted on. Only the winner survives the fires! You can see all of the previous winners in an amazing museum in Valencia. At Brookfield Park we have enjoyed celebrating this festival in our own way for twenty years. Each year has a special theme: 2024's was inspirational people. We had family members, pets, creators and inventors as well as environmentalists to choose from. We then held a special assembly with our own parade and fake fires! "Las Fallas".
