Summer Term

We have a very busy term to look forward to this summer in Rowan Class, including our school trip.  We will be learning about plants and mini-beasts in science which will hopefully take us outside a lot more now the weather is improving.  We will be growing plants in the classroom from bulbs and seeds and watching carefully how they grow.  In history, we will be learning about how Skelmersdale has changed in the last hundred years, in particular our homes and how we live.  We will also be looking at similarities and differences with our lives now and those of our great grandparents from 1950s onwards.  In geography, we will be studying a country called Kenya in Africa to see how people and places look in different parts of the world.  As part of this, we will be looking at the designs and patterns of the African artist Allina Khumalo to make our own similar prints.  As you can see, will have lots to cover plus many more things besides.  Miss Taylor our associate teacher will be continuing to teach us over the summer term, supported by Mrs Tomlinson of course.  We are looking forward to sharing our work with you here and on our other social media platforms.  Keep a watch out for photos!  Wishing everyone a lovely summer term.  Love from Rowan Class.
