Welcome back to Spring Term 2018! I hope that you all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
The children's responses to our holiday chocolate homework project was out of this world! Thank you so much for your support with this project. There has been chocolate cake baking, information about Fair trade, cocoa beans ordered from abroad followed by chocolate making at home, a model of a Cadbury's building made from chocolate, information booklet and posters about the origins of chocolate and the Aztecs and so much more! It's great to see that you had fun through learning about chocolate. This work will continue into our learning in class through our Topic work being linked to the chocolate theme!
In early March we look forward to our trip to Cadbury's world at a cost of £21. Remember that this can be paid in instalments if you so wish.
The letter that we got from the Bikeability company gives slightly different details to how they have adjusted their sessions to meet the needs of our children. To clarify, here are a few points that may be useful for you.
I hope that helps!
This term our design and Technology project links to designing a bridge to help us cross from one side of a Birmingham canal to the other! Birmingham links to our Geography and History topic learning all about chocolate!
When Mrs Allard introduced the different types of bridges in the world, we were so excited about it that we couldn't help ourselves but use equipment in the classroom to create our own bridges! We might just have some ideas for bridges of the future! During the topic so far we have completed a paper bridge challenge and reviewed an APP that allows us to digitally create and test our bridge ideas!
We can't wait to show you our completed and evaluated designs! We will keep you posted about how we are getting on!
