Autumn 2017

What a fantastic start to the year Oak class have made! Mrs Littler and I would like to thank you for all your support with allowing us to settle the children in to their new class.

I would also like to thank you for all of your support with reading at home. Please can you try to take some time each night, just 5 or 10 minutes to listen to your child read, practice their letter sounds or just share a book together.

This half term we will be reading lots of Traditional Tales in our English lessons. Children will be reading lots of stories and we will be basing a lot of our writing in class on these traditional tales. Children will be hot seating characters and talking about settings and common themes and characters throughout all the stories that they read. You can see some of the activities we have been doing linked to our reading and writing on the slide shows below!!

In Maths we have been practicing our counting and numbers bonds and in Science we have been learning about materials. You can see some of the activities we have been doing in the slide shows further down this page.

In our topic work we are learning about  the seasons and weather.

If you have any questions about what we are doing in Oak class please do not hesitate to ask!
